Updating a Website

I think I may have posted a question about this before but I can’t find it now.
Someone reached out to me to update their website.
They said they think the scope should be approx 10 hours, but I have no clue and they didn’t send the list of edits yet.

Should I charge per hour?
Does $80/hour make sense? (that’s my normal hourly rate)
Thanks!

If you don’t know the scope of the job maybe charge a minimum fee
If it takes longer than x amount of hours charge extra per hour.

Btw how many years are you doing website
I feel like I’m undercharging:(

How would you come up with a minimum fee?
I really don’t know the scope at all.
It’s updating a landing page from last year for this year’s program. Didn’t get more details than that.

I’ve been doing graphics for 6 years BH and web for around a year.
Would hourly for web be priced different than graphics?

I personally appreciate doing hourly work for these types of projects, find it works easiest. But up to you!

Thanks Chavi!
Just making sure, is $80/hour a reasonable rate?

Rates are so varied, it’s hard to say. If the client is happy to pay you that, go for it!

I hear. Maybe try to get a feel.
If you end up redesigning the page in 10 hours $800 is not a lot for a full redesign.

Can I see your website? I assume web is even more than graphics:)

Right. I emailed back asking for more details.
It doesn’t sound like it’s going to be a full redesign, but you never know

I recently rebranded so my website is currently under construction (you can get on my list to get an email when my website goes live iyH at colorandcode.co !).
Here is a link to some of my work.

And I agree- I think web could cost more per hour

Thanks!
