When typesetting a book, do you charge per page? Does $2 per page make sense?
Does this include pages that don’t have text?
And what about combining files into one big book. How would I charge for that?

Yes $2 is a standard base price per page - includes pages that are blank.
This is for a basic book with just text - if you have images, captions or many footnotes you could charge more per page. If you have several text frames on a page also can charge more.
Make clear how many rounds of corrections you allow. Try and make sure book has been proofread/edited before you typeset - saves lots of corrections down the line!
Combining files into one big book - i think you may need to elaborate. Have you typeset each of those files or you are simply combining into the book? If the latter, personally I would prob charge hourly…
