Hi! Just wanted to share my experience working on a project. Someone asked me to create something that I thought would be so much easier with a template. I found something online that was kind of what I needed but not exactly. I spent hours masking out, changing the speed and fixing things up. She got back to me with her feedback and i realized we had a miscommunication and I had to start again from scratch. This time I ditched the template and literally went from scratch. It went so much quicker and was so much easier to work with. I finished in a little more than an hour. Wondering what others have to say on this topic?
Depends what type of project but definitely sometimes when i think it will take so fast cuz the template looks so easy to work with, it ends up taking way longer!
I agree with @Rtv sometimes a template does save time… and sometimes NOT AT ALL! I think it also depends on the build up of the template and how much control you are really given and how much digging into the file you end up needing to do. Which you can’t always tell when you are downloading the template.
I guess its like with any project, sometimes we get stuck on an idea and spend so much time trying to get it to work and then in the end we do a quick second version with our own idea and not what we thought/saw/tried recreating etc. and thats quicker and what the client likes!
