Social media

Hi, someone just asked me if I “do graphics for social media”, I told her yes, though Im not sure what i agreed to;)What does it entail?

That’s the way to do it

Some social media networks (Pinterest, Instagram, to a degree Facebook) are very visual platforms and there’s an image for everything you post. Usually, if you’re doing branded media, it will be a set size and you determine a visual direction you want all their pins/posts to look like.

If you’re not familiar with this, the best way is to study a few accounts. (You don’t need an account yourself to view someone else’s.)
For example:

Studying a few well-curated accounts will give you a good idea of what you want to do.

Some people have designers set up templates for them so that they can produce things themselves, without needing to get you for it each time.

Great!Thank you for the advice!!!

Usually it entails setting up and maintaining facebook pages, instagram pages, possibly twitter and pinterest, etc. The graphic aspect is generally pretty simple and straightforward, you just would want to keep a consistent brand look, as Peninah mentioned. And often they would want you to keep updating, adding new posts etc.

Wouldn’t that be more of social media management, rather than “graphics for social media?”
