Revisions

Hi,
How do I price revisions to a web page?
I didn’t create the original page…they just want me to update parts of it.

Wondering how to price it, because technically it can get complicated working off of someone else’s work and figuring out how things were done…

Thanks!

I think I would charge an hourly rate…

Agree with @MalkyH. There’s no way to gauge this correctly, since you didn’t build it.

Just did a project like that and charged by the hour. I did give them an estimate of how long i think it would take and it pretty much ended up within the the range.

Interesting.
I’m so against charging hourly though…
They basically need me to revise a big part of their home page…

Once you know in what way it was built (look at the plugins, page builder etc) it will be easier for you to estimate how long it takes.

I also used to be very against charging per hour.
But now I am working with a client who asked me to do a couple of revision to her website in order to optimize SEO, she said she liked her site the way it is but just wanted me to change some text and images. I felt that she was not clearly stating what the project requires, so I reluctantly told her I will charge her per hour. But now she just wants to also change one more little thing, make one section a bit better, etc, and boy am I glad I told her I will charge her on hourly fee!

I hear. I guess it makes sense if there’s no way to know the scope of the project.
