Question about Album

What are the average pages to put in a wedding album?

I’ve done a few with around 15+ spreads, but I’ve seen some with even 30!

I do master album with 20 spreads, parent albums are duplicate design of master with 15 spreads.

thanks all

@csternglantz Where do you print?

Where do you design? PS?

I design everything in Photoshop as spreads, then save them as PNG files and upload them to zno.com where I only have to place each spread in whole, instead of designing on the site. The site is more challenging to design on.

Are the pictures as sharp?

Yep, I do the same as @csternglantz I just usually save as jpegs.
Any specific reason you save as pngs?

@Itasilver if you design in PS at the right dimensions and add bleed, there’s no reason it shouldn’t be sharp.

I designed them according to the template and instructions I downloaded from zno.com. Sometimes I save them as jpgs and sometimes png, not sure why I do each one. Guess it’s at random

Your pricing list is so organized!
I was wondering, does the price include the collages or is that something that is requested separately? Also when you write 0-15 spreads costs 300$ does that mean that if you do less than 15 it will still be the same price?

Thanks!
Since it’s an introductory pricing - I am including collages in the package.

The separate section with 0-15 and 16-25 spreads, are for those who just need collages but not an album either cuz they are doing it with someone else, on their own or the photographer is doing the album but doesn’t do collages.
It’s $300 whether you do 1 or 15 collages and $500 whether you do 16 or 25 collages.
It’s not that time consuming…
It could be that if someone wants only 1 or 2 collages I would give them a cheaper price but that is about the price…

I really like the idea. Do you do it with ready albums too?
Because I have this issue. I have base price , and price for additional pages. If I feel more pages are needed I ask client if she wants more pages. If clients doesnt want to spend more I just end up working harder, cuz I need to punch in more pictures :unamused:Do you give a maximum of pictures?
Thank you!!

So I actually give out guidelines with my pricing packet - sort of like an application.
I do warn them ahead of time that the more photos they put in a collage the harder I need to work.
Also, I tell them that there may be additional prices if necessary. (At my discretion.)

Got it!
I really don’t like to charge unexpected charges. People don’t like it. i’m really trying to make a very clear price list , but i know, sometimes you just need to do it.
I would love to see your application. Would you share it? wollner0602@gmail.com
Thank you so much ! Your info is really helpful…

Yes IY"H I’ll send it a bit later.

Agree, I never add on to original price. If a client makes me crazy though, I let them know that XYZ is not included in package and if she’d like I can do it for ABC additional fee…
And then client decides if they’d like to pay more.

Ex. one client made me do photoshopping on each individual image.
I drew the line when she asked me to swap a shirt for one son who wasn’t matching in the photo… I ended up doing it for her and she paid more…

@csternglantz would you be willing to post the guidelines/pricing packet???

Do you include minimal photoshopping though?

 when client is within reason…
I’ll remove pimples, do 1-2 face swaps…

That client mentioned before wanted each and every individual image edited. Like, “See that pic where my son is holding the newborn baby? On the dresser, see the sheitel heads? Can you take them out?”
At some point, I had to draw the line…
She actually was very good at sticking to my number of revisions…
In every revision round she called me with an exact detailed list!

Since then I tell every client that I include minimal photoshopping images “within reason”
