I was asked to do the text layout for a book for someone (not the bookcover). It’ll probably be about 300 pages (or 150 spreads?). How much do designers normally charge for this?

I haven’t done book layout for a while but the rates used to be about $2.5 or $3 per page for typesetting. So a 300 pages book would be $5-600. This would include title page and corrections (although would limit correction to include say 2-3 hrs of corrections and after that chargeable at an hourly rate. This is bc you do not know if the book has been professionally edited but if not, the corrections could take you longer than the layout. Hope this helps
