Hi,
I recently bought this one and so far so good. https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/gaming-laptops/g16-gaming-laptop/spd/g-series-16-7630-laptop/caeghbts7630glrf?view=configurations
nope I’m a graphic designer and use illustrator, photoshop and InDesign. I haven’t tried dimensions on it yet.
Ok thanks!
The most important component for Lumion is a dedicated AMD or NVIDIA graphics card.
RAM minimum 32 GB with 64GB being the ideal capacity…
The gaming laptops are great for heavy programs like adobe or autocad and revit!
Yes, Dell XPS you can get with gaming
I recently bought the Lenovo 16" Legion Pro 5i 16IRX8 Gaming Laptop from B&H and am very happy with it so far. I’ve used photoshop, illustrator and indesign at the same time and they load very quickly.
I have the Dell inspiron and use it for AutCAD and Revit. Got it 2 years ago and BH very happy with it!
What would you recommend, DELL orLENOVA?
Dell but the XPS not the inspiron- the inspiron is a weaker body- I think its made out of plastic instead of metal. I’ve been using Dell XPS desktops and laptops for almost 2 decades- very happy with them!! If you have an American Express business card you can get off Dell per quarter
The best place for computers here in Israel is Rubin IT
Yes!! I second RubinIT. More than just for computers, he is my computer technician for everything from clearing my computer when needed to setting up my back up system etc
I spoke to my IT guy. He said that he likes Lenova better than dell because he never has issues with them, as with dell he does have more IT help needed with them.
I got offered 13th gen intel core i7
Lenova 16" Thinkpad P16s
512GB M.2 SSD
NVIDIA RTX A500 with 4 GB GDDR6
this would come out to $1980
Or I can get one with 1TB SSD for $2150
Or I can get it used in great condition just one version older with a 2 yr warranty and its $900 its 2-3 yrs old
Any reason not to go with the one for $900?
I probably would go with a newer version. The Adobe programs use a lot of space and are optimized for the newer computers and it might be able to slow you down in a year from now. So it might be worth making the investment now.
But what does your IT guy say? If he thinks you can get away with the older one, you might be fine with that
Seeing this on sale now- great machine, great price if anyone is still looking
