I’m working on an ad for which I made shadows with the mesh tool. When opening as PDF, the meshes get outlined. See below before/ after.
Any clue as to why this is happening?

where did you find these 3d models if you only used illustrator! great ads!!
Did you try printing it? I’ve had occasionally that my pdf would show such lines but when I print they don’t appear.

You can get many such kinds of 3D looking things on adobe stock or other sites, they are illustrator meshes usually.

What do you search for when looking for these kind of 3d look?
I would just search for 3D vector XXX. And when you find an image you like, make sure that the download has an ai/eps version.
