Is there a way to do mail merge in Indesign? My client gave me an excel file and asked if i can put the names and addresses onto a postcard i made her. How should i go about this?

Its called data merge
You need to title the excel columns and save as a csv
then you can import it in through data merge and it should flow

Thanks! i’m getting an error when i try uploading the data source. it says that it has one or more empty field names…?

Delete all empty cells and rows around ur text.

Does anyone know anything about data merge in InDesign with Hebrew? When I try the letters come up as “???”

Is your paragraph style in hebrew language? and a hebrew font?

Yes, it is.

I figured it out bh! If anyone ever needs: The file must be saved as a csv UTF-16.
To do this you would first save the file as a ‘Unicode Text’, and then go into the file name and add .csv. (for clear instructions: https://www.wallstreetmojo.com/convert-excel-to-csv/)
