I’d love feedback on this brochure for a kollel.
Actual size is 8.5 x 14".
Feel like it’s missing something… Maybe more detail/ something to make it more elegant?
Also would love to make the cover nicer…

Wow, so nice!! I love how you matched the style of the pictures to the logo shape. I think the pictures are fine…I agree about the cover needing a little more interest. Maybe you should play with the words a little more - like making some words bigger and some smaller. Totally maskim with @goldie-mezei about the schedule matching this brochure. This looks much more chashuv than the other design you applied to the schedule.

This brochure will be used for a kollel event, as will another program schedule flyer that I am making to match this brochure.
Not sure that the learning opportunities flyer should also match - won’t be used together…

Client printed these and the folds are a bit off: Design for some of the panels extends past the fold!
I specifically designed this brochure with the inside panel a bit narrower than the other 2, as per measurements that I found online.
It said that otherwise the inside panel would not fold in nicely.
Anyone have experience with something like this?
I feel bad that the final design came out a bit off, and feel like giving a discount - not sure if that’s done…

I would think the smart thing to do would be to give the client a discount. As a graphics designer, you always want to please your clients. Customer Service makes a difference!!
That is a tricky one. Offer a discount or a discount for the next job (if there is something else coming in the near future)

What is the general rule with sizing these things?

So basically, the inside panel is a bit narrower than the other 2.
Looks great folded, but when the cover is open, there is an 1/8" gap near the inside panel…
Not sure if that’s clear.
I actually did this intentionally, because I read online that if all panels are equal widths, it could not lie nicely when folded, the inside flap must be a bit narrower.
Might be more noticeable in this case because it’s not printed on heavy paper.
So now that the client paid up already, should I do anything?
Wait to see if they give me another job and offer a discount then?
Leave it?
