I am finishing up the AutoCAD, and was offered a job to go down to site and take measurements and create a basic plan.
How much can I charge per hour?
Depends a lot where you live and what type of job this is…
I would charge per sq. ft. if i was you, usually comes out more money and client doesn’t have to know how long it took…
If you really want to charge per hour i would say $60 (again it’s a random average and depends a lot on where you live… i started 5 years ago at $45)
If you’re just starting out. Then $60 sounds pretty high.
I would say more like 35-40. Or charge per sq ft as Yitty said.
How much would you charge per sq. ft.?
Not really sure.
Experienced space planners charge anywhere between $1 and $2.
With $2 being really high end with many years in the field, I think.
Would you start with @0.75?
I started at $.45 for my first few jobs.
I added an initial fee after a while because I got a super small job I wanted to do, but would have made too little money.
I kept the initial fee and i feel like its pretty standard, people don’t mind it.
I think $.75 is a bit too much for first few…
@YittyR Thank you for sharing. This information is really help
I was wondering how would u implement this concept to charge per sqf for drafting design drawings for condos?
Sure, it’s a platform made to help people. It would have been helpful if others would also share more openly about prices
@d-n I don’t fully understand your question… meaning if they’re using my plan for multiple houses like a development?
I second Yittys comment. If we can open a discussion about startup- mid and high end pricing for various jobs and how to charge (allowing for location differences) and then we can put together a pdf which we would be happy to share with you all so everyone can benefit. I know we have such a pdf for graphics and people find it very helpful
