Email Marketing

Hi all-

Would you say that email marketing is included in Web Design?
I think we touched on the topic, but we did not learn how to do it.
2 people reached out to me recently about email marketing, so I’m just wondering if it’s something that web designers usually do.

Thanks!

It is often requested of web designers
I thought I did about half a class on Mailchimp, didn’t we?
That said, you can set up an account and send the emails just using the documentation from the email marketing service. They are drag & drop and you should get the hang of it quickly. The hardest part is knowing the marketing (which I do not), and that is NOT part of a typical web designer’s skillset.

I think I missed 1 class and never watched it :grimacing:, so it’s possible we did a class on mail chimp.
Ok.

I was also referring to more complicated emails, like with automations and different integrations, but I’m assuming that’s not included in the web design skill set. Right?

Oh, so that is really a matter of learning the specific email software. The more you do it, the better you get. There are some that do have courses, for much more complex email software like Drip. But you can usually learn basics with the knowledgebase of the software. You could look into Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, ConvertKit. Those are a few I know of.

Hi,
I’m only seeing this now…
I never learned about email newsletters in any graphic course, But I figured it out. I use mailchimp and constant contact every week. the more you play around with it the better you’ll get. its really easy to figure out.
G’luck!
