Email addresses on team page

My client wants me to add a space before and after the @ on all email addresses on the website to avoid spam.

If i do that the email function mail to won’t work anymore.

How can I display email addresses on a website without it being a target for spaming?

@peninah_adler

You can put on a plugin called email encoder (or something like that). It won’t affect real people looking at the site and copying the email address, but it stops bots from scraping the email.

So leave the way it is: info@yx.com as text including mail to: link and just add the plugin?

It’s an alternative to writing it out with spaces.

Is that normal? I just launched the website and within a day i see already spam emails hitting the site?

a. did i do anything wrong?
b. why is that happening?
c. any additional caution i should take in addition to the plugin?

I think it’s pretty normal. All spam blockers you can put on the form help

I added cleantalk now, which i am using on another website, where there were problems. it’s cheap and seems to work.
