Hi!
Can someone please tell me what the difference is between an architect and an interior designer? i would like to get this straight:
is an interior designer only for renovations? or can they create a house that doesn’t?
does an interior designer do the plumbing/electricity? or that’s the architect.
do people hire both, or is it one or the other?
Thanks!
Architects focus on designing the structure of a building, planning layouts, making sure the building is safe, and things like plumbing and electrical to follow building rules. They work on both new buildings and major renovations, especially when big changes are needed. Interior designers focus on making the inside of a space more practical and beautiful by arranging furniture, choosing colors, lighting, and materials, and improving how the space looks and feels. Interior designers often work on renovations but they can also help with new buildings to make sure the inside matches the overall design. Architects figure out where things like pipes and wires should go, and interior designers decide how to make those areas look and work better. Many large projects use both, with architects handling the structure and interior designers adding style and comfort. For smaller changes, people might just hire an interior designer.
Thank you!!
