My client needed to upgrade hosting to handle their website. They started off with shared hosting. They chose (against my better judgement) a higher level of shared hosting with more space for SSD storage and a dedicated IP. It’s not a dedicated server, it’s still shared hosting. Of what benefit is a dedicated IP?
Thanks.
There’s a benefit to your Google ranking. Not sure what else.
Thanks Penina. Does anyone know if it helps website speed at all?
Somehow I remember a dedicated IP server necessary for certain SSL certificates, maybe? Somehow I don’t think it’s necessary for much typical “simple” websites. I wonder if you ask either a heavy duty programmer OR the actual host, if they can explain to you what benefit it brings! Hatzlocha!
Thank you. I asked the hosting company but the host wasn’t giving any real information, which is what made me feel like my client is payment much more without getting any real value for it.
