the other advice I can give, is picture your font as a person- and then question yourself if that person is the right type for your brand.
think Bold fonts- bossy, know it all, manly, stable, sturdy etc

First is knowing what each kind of font conveys, ex. serif is traditional and sophisticated, sans serif is bold and modern, handwritten and imperfect is good for organic and playful…
Then, when I work on a logo, I first make a decision about what font direction I want to go in based on what the client wants the brand to feel like and then on my artboard I type out the name in at least 20 fonts from that category to start seeing how they feel and work…
