Do people find that having a personal name/logo actually helps them?

It looks professional esp as a designer
I’ve been doing freelance work for the past few years and managed perfectly fine without one.
Now that I went out on my own it was time to get real 
So yes, it makes you look a bit more professional, though is it necessary to do right away? I would say not.
I work for IDesign, a healthcare marketing and branding agency
and also do a bit of freelance at night
