Basic Brand Pricing

Hi,

I am pretty new to graphic design, I created a basic brand for a company - logo, pattern, colors, type. I’m wondering what I normal price would be for this. It took a nice amount of time and revisions like I feel like charging less than $400 is too cheap - I even think $400 might be too little… Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks!

What pricing did you discuss with them?

$400 is definitely in the beginner pricing range. Do you feel like it took you longer because you worked harder, or because you are more of a beginner? I know that the first few times I did a branding project it took forever. But it was mostly because my process wasn’t so good…

It may have been a bit because I’m a beginner but it was a rebrand - originally they wanted me to keep the format of their original logo then we changed it…
Is going to like $450-$500 overpricing?
I see why $400 makes sense but still feels a bit low…

Did you discuss pricing beforehand?

Not really…

The issue is that the client may have expected that it will be cheaper. The average random person who hires a designer doesn’t know that branding can cost over $1000. They expect it to be much less, like $250 or $300. My suggestion is to send an invoice for what you feel is a good price and see what they say
