I know a lot of pricing questions come up, but I need help with this one.
I got this email from a potential client:
“I am running a crowd funding campaign in Jan.
I need graphics for the platform and 2 mailings and advertisements
I will provide the writing and marketing theme
What is your fee?”
1)What do they mean by a platform?
2)What would I charge? It is an elementary school.
3)Since the project description is so vague, I asked to set up a meeting over the phone. I figured that once I knew exactly what they had in mind, I then would get back to them with the final price. I am told that this is unprofessional. Is it? Any opinions?
I agree! Shooting off a price without understanding what they want can backfire for both of you…
First discuss what they have in mind and get a clearer picture.
Never priced something like this before but i know one has to prepare graphics for all stages of the campaign, from the initial marketing material to introduce the project to parents and to create the fundraising teams, the pre launch, the almost starting, the we are live we are 25% we are 50% etc , etc we did it? thanks you to everyone blah blah,
there’s load of graphics and all very pressurized!
I would try to speak to someone who has worked with such campaigns before as I doubt anyone not involved would appreciate the scope of this huge undertaking,
