you add your artwork into the smart object file and it joins the layout

It’s called mockups. You can find loads of free options by searching something like ‘free PSD trifold brochure mockup’.
It will give you a photoshop file that you can place your artwork into and it will mock it up for you.
And yes! Like Dena wrote, don’t feel slow!!
Its an extra step you can do to really make the artwork stand out.
Some clients are less “visual” and cant understand how the final product will work.
