I just made this logo (btw is there some sort of privacy thing on here- like we can’t share- just cuz I know the person I’m making this for is like all secrative… so you didn’t see it from me 
)?
Anyways- she wants to make it into a magnet and wanted some advice on how to outline it properly-
I couldn’t do the regular- make a copy, outline and offset stroke bec. nothing is connected and the girl is a jpeg from photohsop- so any ideas?
I could manually do it but I feel like it wouldn’t be as exact…

just making sure im understanding right… you want the magnet to be like a cutout - in the shape of the logo? is that why you’re making a thick stroke? - to connect them?
can you bring the whole logo into photoshop and then create a stroke? or does it have to be send to the printer as an illustrator file?..

I have this logo that I want to print as a sticker and the company is asking me to do a 2 mm cutout.
So how do we go about it?
I would take image into Photoshop and remove background if needed, then create stroke.
If you specifically want the logo as a vector, do the stroke in Photoshop, create layers from the layer styles, and just bring the stroke back into illustrator
