Apple vs windows desktop vs laptop

Hi! I’m sure this question is asked lots of times but I’d love to hear some opinions.
I currently do graphics work while using a windows laptop but I’m looking to upgrade.

  1. Is it worth it to switch to Apple? Are the Adobe programs different in windows vs Apple?
  2. Is it worth it to get a desktop instead of a laptop?
    Thank you!

You generally get more “bang for your buck” on a windows
no difference in the programs, just in the “user friendlines” ie. dragging dropping into files etc on a mac is more user friendly
desktop will be much stronger, but you need to know your work situation if you can have it set in one place etc. less flexibility than a laptop but way more power

I switched to an iMac 6 years ago, and it’s been awesome. Rare crashes, sharp colors, and no regrets. Plus, the sleek design makes moving it around a breeze. Upgraded the RAM once, and it’s been smooth sailing. Highly recommend the switch!

I just got a new laptop last week. I went back and forth a lot but ultimately went with a windows laptop (a really fast Lenovo gaming laptop) for the reasons Adina mentioned.

A couple of things to consider:

Mac laptops may be cheaper than the latest and greatest windows laptop
Mac laptops are lighter than most windows Laptops, so if you’re traveling a lot that might be something to think about.

Windows can be reconfigured to add storage but Mac cannot
If you aren’t used to a Mac, it’s a learning curve. Nothing you can’t learn, but consider how tech savvy you are and how long it will take.

Remember to back up everything beforehand if you use cloud storage. Good luck switching over!!
