Adverts

Hi
An ad I designed was put into one of the publications. It was printed off centre and stretched disproportionately. I had sent it with bleeds and specified as such. The ad specification only made mention that crop marks were not required.
On querying, they replied that I did not need to send with bleeds, artwork had been incorrect size and that they had done their best with the artwork given. Should they have communicated as such to me prior to print? The sizing was accurate according to ad specs.
It was expensive and reflects poorly. Do I have what to stand on in requesting a rerun of the ad?

They Deff should have told you it was the incorrect size. Ive had that before.

And it wasn’t actually wrong size - It just had bleeds on 3 sides , about which I had made very clear. . . What would you do in such a situation?

I would be clear that they should never touch an ad without asking the designer first.

ok, Thanks!
